our mobile phones and some environmental issues

You may have got a new iphone from Santa but what is going to happen to your old one?

Here is some insight.

One tonne of iPhones would deliver 300 times more gold than a tonne of gold ore and 6.5 times more silver than a tonne of silver ore

Our smart phones are full of precious metals and we would need to consider not to change phones with the frequency we do now (i.e. about 11 months we get a new phone).

Apart from the huge environmental issues, the point that needs to be considered is how these metals are recovered by children.

So, educating our children on these issues can be a great New Year Resolution.

And, please, watch the film "Don't look up" under the prism of this post.
